Lesson : Let’s Write a Story

Introduction:
The teacher will show the pictures to the students and ask them to observe carefully. Students will discuss what is happening in each picture. The teacher will explain that pictures can help us create and write a story in sequence. Then the lesson “Let’s Write a Story” will be introduced.
Concept building:
- The teacher will guide students to observe the pictures one by one.
- Students will identify the characters in the story such as the tiger and the deer.
- The sequence of events shown in the pictures will be discussed.
- Students will predict what may happen next in the story.
- The teacher will explain how to begin, develop and end a story.
- Simple sentences and linking words like then, after that, suddenly, and finally will be taught.
- The teacher will ask questions such as:
- What was the deer doing in the forest?
- Why was the tiger hiding?
- How did the deer save itself?
- What lesson can we learn from the story?
Consolidation and Reinforcement:
- Students will retell the story in their own words.
- Important events of the story will be revised in sequence.
- The teacher will reinforce the importance of observation and creative thinking in story writing.
- Students will share their stories with the class.
Practice:
- Write the story in your own words using the pictures.
- Give a suitable title to the story.
- Arrange the events in correct order.
- Write five sentences about the forest scene.
- Draw and colour your favourite picture from the lesson.
