Teaching Materials:

  • Chalk and Blackboard
  • Picture cards of birds, flowers, animals and nature
  • Flash cards of new words
  • Chart paper

Pre-Knowledge Test:

  • What beautiful things do you see in nature?
  • Can you name some birds and flowers?
  • Why should we love nature?
  • Have you ever recited a poem about nature?

Introduction:

The teacher will show pictures of flowers, birds, trees and animals and ask students to describe them. A short discussion on the beauty of nature will be conducted. Then the teacher will introduce the poem “All Things Bright and Beautiful”.


Concept building:

  • The teacher will recite the poem with proper rhythm and pronunciation.
  • Students will do group and individual recitation.
  • Difficult words like bright, beautiful, creature, wise, tiny, and wonderful will be explained.
  • The teacher will explain the meaning and theme of the poem.
  • Students will identify different creations of nature mentioned in the poem.
  • The moral message of loving and respecting nature will be discussed.
  • The teacher will ask questions such as:
    • Who made all things bright and beautiful?
    • What does the little bird do?
    • Which words in the poem describe nature?

Consolidation and Reinforcement:

  • Students will recite the poem again with correct pronunciation.
  • Important lines of the poem will be repeated.
  • The teacher will revise the meanings of difficult words.
  • Students will discuss why nature is beautiful and important.

Practice:

  • Recite the poem aloud.
  • Write the meanings of five difficult words from the poem.
  • Write five sentences about nature.
  • Draw and colour a scene from the poem.
  • Answer simple questions from the poem.
