a) What happened during the earthquake?

Ans: During the earthquake, the ground shook terribly, causing pieces of earth from the roof of the cave and the edge of the hill to fall. A deafening sound was heard as a big rock fell into the sea.

b) Why didn’t Robinson Crusoe feel safe during the earthquake?

Ans:Robinson Crusoe didn’t feel safe during the earthquake because he thought he would die if he stayed in the cave any longer. He saw pieces of earth coming towards him and realized the cave was not safe at that moment.

c) Why did the sea become fearful?

Ans: The sea became fearful because of the terrible earthquake. The tremors were stronger under the sea than on the surface, making the sea appear angry and violent.

d) Where did Robinson Crusoe take shelter first when it rained?

Ans: Robinson Crusoe first took shelter in his tent when it started to rain heavily after the storm.

e) What qualities of Robinson Crusoe helped him survive the day?
